It's obvious that any extraction of acceptable blood components requires storing and processing whole blood; how does the Society rationalize this to the Bibical command to "pour out the blood"? And what happens to a JW who donates his blood exclusively to be processed into acceptable fractions?

a "bloody" question - components vs. fractions
by inbetween inthe official wt rule on blood is, whole blood and the four primary components are forbidden, fractions from those are conscience matter.. now its clear, that the medical world only uses the term fractions.. its also clear, that there is no direct bibilical reason for dividing blood into permitted components and forbidden fractions.. .
however, there is one argument of apologists, that has at least some value, if the premisse is true:.
the problem with components is, that when they are extracted, they still contain small amounts of all other components, so they still resemble whole blood, only the percentage is different.. an example to illustrate (simplified):.

olive oil, some Tabasco Chipotle sauce, a little white vinegar, some finely chopped fresh rosemary and garlic.. that's all, folks. Moreover, as in a salad, it's not really necessary to marinate the kebabs, just brush them liberally once they come off the BBQ

Now why would the WT not ask former elders the 3rd question?
by wheelwithinwheel inin chapter 3 of ks-10, paragraph 13 (page 35), the wt corp provides the precise questions that are to be asked aspiring elders before announcing their appointment.
there are only 2 for qualifying brothers who have served previously.
brothers not having served before must be asked a 3rd.. .

I thinlk it reveals how pervasive the problem of child molestation is in the organization. They're clearly on the defensive on this issue.

The Greatest Gift (no one is guaranteed tomorrow)
by AllTimeJeff ini was watching a movie on cable this week, and was impressed.
it was about a woman who chose prostitution, in part to live out a life of lust.
the movie is more about her journey to learn about herself.

Right Jeff, yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery; all we have is today... that's why it's called "The Present!"

Why move magazine printing from the U.S. to Canada?
by factfinder inthe january 2011 issues were printed in canada so the change was made.. the wts spent millions of dollars enlarging and updating the printing operations in wallkill so they could consoladate the book and magazine printing at the one location.
it was in 2004 that they stopped the presses in brooklyn and began book production in wallkill.. now just 6 years later they suppossedly sold several of their presses from the u.s. and canada, bought a large new very fast press for canada and had to enlarge the printery there to accomodate it.. now the canada branch will print over 260 million magazines for the u.s.each year and all the expansion done in wallkill was for nothing.. does anyone know why this was done?.

The Reasoning book has become for the present-day JW what the old Rutherford phonograph was to Rutherfordites -- a crutch to lean on, rather than one's own personal knowledge

Bland, maybe, but a helluva lot better than sitting through one of those "first, the governments will turn on Bablyon and and then on us!" or "facts demonstrate that God's kingdom was establish in 1914 and the anointed were granted approval in 1919" ...... this is one talk actually aimed at the public-- a rarity these days-- and won't have an unitiated newcomer's head spinning!

How Long Can WT Stonewall The Mounting Evidence For Evolution/Age of Man?
by Room 215 inthe evidence for some form of evolution -- and the age of earth and life upon it -- is mounting almost daily.
how long can the wts insulate its followers from the incontrovertible evidence without lapsing into total irrelevance?
what do you think?.

New Watchtower Videos - Was Life Created?
by Shepherd Book ini created a trilogy of short documentaries (about 3 minutes long each) exploring some of the claims and assertions in the watchtower's new brochure was life created?.
i intend to upload the third one in the next few hours; just need to tweak a few things:.
the basis for some of your beliefs, part one.

The Watchtower just cannot to to terms with the incontrovertible evidence of some sort of evolutionarly development of life; and the age of life on earth; the only tentative baby step they've taken in that direction is to equivocate on the previously stressed 7,000-year creative day teaching, so they just wall it off. By the way, it's not generally known that C.T. Russell was a proponent of some form of deistic evolution (see The New Creation).
